Book Four of the four-volume The Death of the American Dream covers 2021 to 2026. It's on preorder now as an EPUB ebook and releases Sat., Oct. 31.
Book Four's introduction puts it bluntly: for forty years the people in these books did as they pleased, and this is the book where the country finds out.
The Reckoning runs 42 chapters in five Parts:
The Sixth and After (2021–2022)
The Blueprint (2023)
The Count (2024)
The Implementation (2025)
The Season and the City (2026)
The account runs through Oct. 26, 2026. Every fact dated after mid-2025 carries its date, so a reader knows exactly how current it is.
What's inside
January 6 and after. The day itself, the fake electors, and "Seditious Conspiracy and the Pardons": the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys convictions, then the clemency that undid them.
The pulpit in power. Christian nationalism from 2016 to 2026, the fall of Roe, book bans and Moms for Liberty.
The blueprint. After Dobbs: deaths, prosecutions and the surveillance of pregnancy. The anti-trans legislative wave and the anti-DEI state. The Comstock Act revived. Project 2025, first as a plan, then as an implementation.
The Court built to order, part two. The shadow docket, the gifts and presidential immunity.
The upward transfer. From the 2017 tax cuts to the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Fewer hands, 2016–2026. Streaming, the settlement, and the price of a joke: who now owns what Americans watch.
Florida. The Stop WOKE Act and the war on home rule.
Close to home
The book's last chapters come home to Tampa Bay:
"The Graves Under Robles Park: Zion Cemetery, 2019–2026" (Chapter 168)
"Microcosm of Convergence: Reclaiming the Gas Plant District" (Chapter 169), which the book calls every thread of the four volumes on eighty-six acres
How it ends
The Conclusion turns to culture and counts two concentrations: wealth, and the channels Americans learn through. It finds that they are one pattern.
Resistance hasn't disappeared. As the Conclusion puts it, "Americans can still make the song, the film and the joke." The open question is who owns the road those songs, films and jokes travel.
An Author's Note, "No Further Review," is kept as a living account. Appeals, legal actions and records requests will be posted there as dated corrections. They carry forward into a fifth volume, The Harvest, planned for January 2027.
Who it's for
The Reckoning is for anyone who has asked, "How did we get here?" and wants an answer with names, votes and dollars on the record.
