How We Use AI

We are a small newsroom, and we use AI tools to help draft stories from source material we have gathered: documents, records and published reporting.

AI never decides what is true. A human editor checks every factual claim against its source before anything is published, and stories drafted with AI help say so at the bottom.

We do not use AI to invent quotes, create fake images of real people, or publish anything automatically.

Some of our section artwork is illustration made with AI image tools. It is never presented as a photo of a real event or a real person.
