How We’re Funded
Florida Man News Network takes no advertising and no investor money. Our newsroom is paid for by sales of FMNN merchandise and of The Death of the American Dream books, and by reader donations under the policy below.
The firewall. Merchandise pays for the journalism. It never shapes it. What sells never decides what we cover, how we frame it or when it runs. Our merchandise states our point of view openly; we don’t pull it because of what we’re reporting, and we don’t soften reporting to protect a product. Any fact on a product meets the same standard as a story. If our reporting changes that fact, the product is corrected or retired, and we log it as a correction. News stories never link to or promote merchandise.
Donations. We accept reader donations. No donor gets any say in what we cover, and we refuse money from anyone who is the subject of our active reporting.
Concerns? If you think money has shaped our coverage, tell us through our contact page. A person reads every message.
