These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Florida Man News Network website at floridamannewsnetwork.com, the FMNN mobile app, our newsletters and related services (together, the "Services"). FMNN is published by Joseph Jackson in Tampa Bay, Florida ("FMNN," "we," "us"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

1. Our journalism

FMNN publishes independent news, investigations and opinion about Florida. News stories report facts and link to their sources. Opinion pieces are clearly labeled and reflect the author's views. We correct errors openly; see our Corrections page. Nothing on FMNN is legal, financial, medical or voting advice for your specific situation.

2. Using the Services

You may read, share and link to our stories for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

copy, republish or sell our stories, photos or graphics in full without written permission (short quotes with a link and credit to FMNN are fine);
scrape or bulk-download the site, or use it to train commercial AI systems, except as allowed by our robots.txt and llms.txt files;
interfere with the site's security or operation;
use the Services to break the law, harass anyone, or impersonate FMNN or anyone else.

3. Accounts, newsletters and alerts

If you create an account or sign up for our newsletter or alerts, give accurate information and keep your login private. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in that email. Some sign-ups and prompts on our site are provided through Google (Reader Revenue Manager); Google's own terms and privacy policy also apply to what you submit through those tools.

4. Contributions and purchases

FMNN is reader-funded. Contributions are voluntary, support our journalism and are not tax-deductible (FMNN is not a nonprofit). Contributions and ebook purchases are processed by third-party payment providers such as Google and Squarespace. Unless the law requires otherwise, contributions are non-refundable; if you were charged by mistake, email us and we will work with you to fix it. Ebooks are licensed for your personal use and may not be redistributed.

5. Tips and things you send us

When you send us a tip, comment, photo or other material, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you allow FMNN to use it in our reporting. We protect the identity of sources who ask us to, as described in our Standards & Ethics page. Don't send anything illegal, confidential that you aren't permitted to share, or someone else's private information without good reason.

6. Advertising and links

We run limited ads, including in the app. Ads and sponsored links are labeled. We link to outside sources so you can check our work; we are not responsible for the content or practices of other websites.

7. Intellectual property

FMNN's name, seal logo, stories, photos we own, and design are protected by copyright and trademark law. Photos and material from others are credited and remain the property of their owners.

8. Disclaimers

We work hard to be accurate, but the Services are provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, FMNN is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida.
